American Values
For years, liberals have characterized pro-life individuals as fringe “religious nutjobs.” According to the latest Gallop poll, these nutjobs now constitute the majority of Americans.

If this many Americans are pro-life, why are tax dollars being used to fund abortions? It’s equally concerning that liberals consistently suggest their opposition must be crazy. Why do they fear intellectual discourse? In reality, the pro-life movement has never been a fringe group of extremists.
Whether it’s abortion or any other issue, know that you are not alone in your beliefs. Instead of using logical arguments, liberals will try to alienate you by saying you are an extremist. Just remember that liberals lie.

interesting trends, i wonder why pro-life was once so low.

I have a theory but no data to back it up. In the two decades post Roe v. Wade decision, abortion on demand was deemed okay by the Woodstock generation. By the mid-nineties when this graph shows the uptick, the kids of the 70s had teenagers of their own, and they started thinking about their grandchildren being aborted.

Good point, A2. That probably is a contributing factor. I wonder if graphic pro-life campaigns may be having an effect as well.
I also think Obama has made the public more aware of what it means to be “pro-choice.” I say that because prior to the election I had mixed feelings on the issue myself. Now Democrats have appropriated US tax dollars to fund abortions in other countries. They are even pushing to legalize 3rd trimester abortions. I guess that just got me thinking. Developmental psychologists say you should read to your unborn child. If a third trimester fetus with a brain and nerve endings and cognitive capacity isn’t a human being, then what is it?

i don’t really see why, just because 51% of people say they are in favour of something, the other 49% of the people have to give up the something.
Last i heard, in your country, it’s not mob rule, it’s democracy. That’s ALL the people, not just 51%.

Hi Sheila,
Like I said, our government is using tax dollars to subsidize abortion. This means 51% of the people in our country are forced to fund something which they find completely unethical. I would hardly consider that democratic.
But that was not the underlining point. The statistics show that conservatives (or more specifically pro-life conservatives, in this case) are obviously not a small group of fringe radicals, as liberals often suggest.
