Mobilize

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Democrats in office have already made it clear that they care more about their careers than they care about democracy itself.

In the first part of their new rules package, the Democrats have abolished term limits for committee chairmanship - limits that Republicans established in 1995. In addition, the rules essentially prevent Republicans from having any voice whatsoever. It will be close to impossible to send Democrat sponsored bills back to committee for revision. And as Pelosi said herself, the House will no longer entertain bills sponsored by Republicans. Is this the bi-partisanship on which all the Democrats based their campaigns?

But it’s time to stop complaining about the their childish behavior and start doing something about it.

I encourage you to join the Intelligent Thinkers Movement. This organization will send you an email whenever important bills are up for vote in your area.

When you get the emails, write your representative to let them know how you feel and be sure to tell them that you don’t have a short memory. You can look up your representative from the link on the right, labeled “Write Your Representative.” It’s very easy, and your voice will make a difference.

Obama Declares War on Counter-Terrorism

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

Obama says that Osama Bin Laden is no longer a threat to our country, and that it’s unnecessary to capture or kill him. As long as Bin Laden is hiding “in a cave somewhere” we will be safe, Obama says.

Perhaps he got this idea from his former pastor, who said the 9/11 attacks were justified. Maybe now that al-Qaeda has had their “vengeance for our wrongs” the terrorists will just leave us alone.

Instead of going after the terrorists, now Obama is shutting down Guantanamo and setting them free. Liberals say there isn’t enough evidence to hold them there, but one of the terrorists released from Gitmo was tracked and “emerged as the second-ranking Al Qaeda leader in the nation of Yemen.” This is a man that we had captured! And who knows how many more of the former Guantanamo prisoners will soon be making bombs again. Way to go Barack! How many more people have to die for you to take terrorism seriously?

As if that’s not enough, Obama’s Attorney-General appointment is Eric Holder, the man who was a “driving force behind President Clinton’s pardons of members of the notorious Puerto Rican terrorist group.” This group was one of the most active terrorist organizations to ever exist in the United States and “proudly claimed responsibility for over 130 bombings and incendiary attacks in the U.S. and Puerto Rico between 1974 and 1983.”

This was the same terrorist organization that Obama condemned the Clinton’s for pardoning, and now he is appointing one of the main parties involved.

…And Now, Presenting Your President

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

The following is an abridged account of Obama’s racist history. Please note that it is comprised almost entirely of direct quotes from Obama, as well as his former pastor.

While Obama denounced Reverend Wright, he approved of his “social gospel” focusing on Africa, saying “and I agree with him on that.” Well, here is Reverend Wright’s social doctrine, which Obama agrees with:

1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System

This doctrine was posted on the church website for many years (as seen below), but was removed during the presidential campaign.

Now, if another church were to adopt this same doctrine, but used the word ‘white’ instead of the word ‘black,’ wouldn’t that be considered extremely racist? If so, how is the doctrine of Trinity United - the social gospel that President Obama said he agrees with - not racist?

The fact of the matter is that Reverend Wright made racist anti-American statements long before the controversial “God Damn America” sermon during the election. Wright said that the government was responsible for “inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color.” The Sunday after 9/11, Wright said that the terrorist attack was “America’s chicken’s coming home to roost.” Wright also said, “If God is not for us and against whites, then he is a murderer, and we’d best kill him.”

Obama denied hearing any of this, but he even quoted some of Wright’s racial remarks in his book, Dreams from My Father, on page 159: “White folks’ greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere. That’s the world! On which hope sits!”

That sermon, entitled “The Audacity of Hope,” inspired Obama so much that he named his next book after it.

But let’s look at a few more quotes out of Dreams from My Father:

“That hate hadn’t gone away [...] blaming white people - some cruel, some ignorant, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.” -Barack Obama, Dreams from My Father, Page 236

“I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was integrating myself with the whites.” -Barack Obama, Dreams from My Father, Page 6

“The emotion between the races could never be pure [...] The other race [white] would always remain just that: menacing, alien and apart.” -Barack Obama, Dreams from My Father, Page 71

“[...] The African could never win against the white man because the black man only wanted to work with his own family or clan, while all white men worked to increase their power.” -Barack Obama, Dreams from My Father, Page 223

“The white man alone is like an ant, Onyango would say. He can be easily crushed. But like an ant, the white man works together. His nation, his business-these things are more important to him than himself. He will follow his leaders and not question orders. Black men are not like this.” -Barack Obama on the teachings of his grandfather, Dreams from My Father, Page 223

“It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.” -Barack Obama, Dreams from My Father, Page 59

These quotes aren’t taken out of context. But don’t take my word for it. I encourage you to read Dreams from My Father, just so you can see what kind of man our President is. In fact, if I know you then I have a copy you can borrow.

How Stimulating

Monday, January 19th, 2009

No one said it better than House republican leader, John Boehner. “Oh…my…God.”

He was commenting on the current stimulus package that House democrats have introduced, just in time for Obama’s rise to the throne.  The phrase ”stimulus package” is being used very loosely, as most of the bill is going towards ridiculous welfare programs and liberal spending that will do little to get our economy out of the trouble it’s in.  At best, it will encourage people to sit lethargically in front of their new taxpayer funded Digital TVs and eat more government subsidized food.

A great deal of the money will go to extending unemployment benefits for out-of-work Americans and creating new “green jobs”  (i.e. lightbulb changers).  While retrofitting government offices, building energy efficient infrastructure, and investing in a green energy grid are all noble causes, there is a disconnect between these projects and stabilizing our economy.  This massive spending may create temporary jobs, but what happens when these projects are finished?  Will we continue to keep these “green collar” workers on the taxpayers’ payroll ad infinitum?

Also hidden in the bill among the other random allotments are the Obama “tax cuts.” Funny how the tax cuts were promised to families making under $250,000, yet the bill only rewards those that make less than $150,000.  By the time the bill is passed, it may be down to $75,000 or even $50,000, since it has become a liberal mentality that all the “wealthy” people should be punished for their hard work and success.  Let’s discriminate against those who create jobs, and see how this stimulus works.  Additionally, the “tax cuts,” as promised, are refundable. This article explains, “[b]ecause it’s refundable, Americans without income could apply for it.”. Without income?  Meaning, non-working Americans?  Meaning, welfare?  Someone explain this, because it doesn’t sound like a “tax cut” to me. But I digress…

Other funding includes: $20 billion to increase the food stamp benefits, $87 billion for an increase in the Medicaid matching rate, $1 billion to aid states in the collection of child support, another $1 billion toward preparations for the 2010 census, $4 billion to support local law enforcement, and $800 million to clean up toxic waste sites.  How exactly does this stimulate the economy?  Anyone can B.S. some tangential economic benefits from these programs, but at the heart of this “stimulus package” is porkbarrell spending on social welfare programs that would give any liberal a wet dream. In the words of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”

Obama Embraces Socialism

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Obama laughed about being called a socialist, but now he’s actually appointing known socialists to public office. His new advisor on Energy and Climate Change, Carol Browner, is one of the top dogs of Socialist International.

From 1/10/09

Why would Obama want advice from a socialist? A majority of Americans do not ascribe to any form of socialist ideology. But now our tax dollars will be paying to push Browner’s socialist agenda.

Mr. Obama’s transition team said Browner’s membership in the socialist organization is not a problem and that it brings experience in policy-making to her new role. But since when does America embrace socialist policy-making?

If this appointment doesn’t scare you, you don’t know what socialism is. It isn’t Liberalism, and it isn’t mere Leftism. It’s the radicalism that has taken form in many of the evils we have fought, ranging from Nazi Germany to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Not only is she a socialist, but she shares many of Al Gore most radical opinions (by the way, Gore’s movie did not have a single expert endorsement). Overall, just another wacko for Obama to put up on the shelf.

Funnyman Frankin Pulls More Shenanigans

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Former comedian Al Franken apparently believes that democracy is a joke. After the recount, Franken pulled ahead in the Minnesota Senate election - but now 25 precincts have more ballots than voters who signed in to vote.

Shortly after the election, “misplaced” ballots began to show up exactly where you would expect to find tickets favoring a democratic candidate, such as the car of an election official and an old storage warehouse. And just as you would expect, a vast majority of these ballots racked up additional votes for Franken. It’s almost funny.

But it’s not only the newly “found” ballots that are landing extra Franken votes. Numerous votes have been double-counted. We can thank the entrusted election officials again, who made duplicates of “damaged ballots” but failed to separate the originals.

It seems the board of elections in Minnesota does not share our nostalgia for the good old days when votes only counted once. One board member, State Supreme Court Justice G. Barry Anderson, acknowledged it is “very likely there was a double counting,” yet the board says they don’t have the authority to question local officials. There are more ballots than voters, and merely acknowledging the likelihood of double counting is the best they can do.

During the recount, the board only made decisions that favored Franken. Hennepin County precinct had 133 less ballots in the recount, but the board went with the election night total: a net gain of 43 votes for Franken. But when Ramsey County precinct ended up with 177 more ballots than election night, they went with the new recount total: a net gain of 37 votes for Franken. This all seems like a bad joke.
